Comfort Zone

Our tiny wins, losses, sorrows and joys
And our myriad little human myths
Acquire great enormity and complete focus
And require shiny toys and comforting words
Also invented and imagined grouses, affinities
And human skirmishes and alliances and affiliations
As the world rolls into a huge avalanche
Of dying rivers, lost forests and life
And hurtles towards a cliff we cannot fathom
And want to not see coming.
